FAQ's

  • What should I expect during my first visit? 
    • allow at least 60 minutes, the initial consultation will include historical and present medical, health and personal details, comprehensive questioning pertaining to the current condition, a full postural assessment and appropriate treatment.  Please bring shorts if you prefer, to enable the practitioner to see as much as possible.
  • What will happen at subsequent visits?
    • a short assessment (follow up) of symptoms and pain levels since the last treatment, a physical assessment and a treatment.  If symptoms change from the previous presenting complaint (unrelated) or the patient has had an unplanned break between treatment's, a re-assessment will be required.
  • How much does treatment cost?
    • £70 for a new patient assessment and a re-assessment, £50 for a follow up assessment
  • What does an osteopath treat?
    • sports injuries, painful muscles or joints, sciatica (or other nerve compression), neck/back pain, headaches, frozen shoulders, arthritic joints, muscle strains, ligament sprains, postural strain patterns, weakness, imbalance, vestibular dysregulation, inflammation, pelvic floor, women's health, obstetric and paediatric treatment
  • Will the therapist use any equipment?
    • the use of medical acupuncture or kinesiology taping may be offered if appropriate, exercise equipment may be used for rehabilitation and balancing of postural dysfunction, organic oils may be used during massage, towels, pillows and paper couch roll are used.  Please discuss any allergies when booking.
  • What is Pilates?

  • What is a Pilates Reformer machine?
    • a reformer/cadillac contains springs of different tensions to increase the load in muscles.  The main benefit of using the machinery is isolating particular parts of the body and preventing the student from compensating elsewhere.
  • How much does Pilates cost?
    • the same as other treatment, charges are time dependant
